Develop the adapted architecture
Since 1990, we have been supporting our clients in the medico-social field, and today more than 50 projects, new constructions or renovations have been carried out by the agency.
With extensive experience, associated with a reflection and an understanding of needs and uses, our approach is based on the knowledge of the apprehension of space, light, sounds and colors by residents. It is also based on the mastery of various psychological and medical issues. Its objective is to highlight the beneficial effects of an architecture adapted to different disabilities and pathologies.
Listening to occupants, families and medical and paramedical personnel, even after years of operation, is one of the keys. This is evidenced by the many operators and associations who attest to our skills.
FAM, EHPAD, ESAT, CSSR, IME… the agency provides adequate responses through all types of work and projects in the medico-social field. To do this, we master programming, project management, project management assistance and business coordination.
The medico-social response, a unique know-how
Our design method makes it possible to manage the many complexities and constraints to be integrated for the construction of establishments in the medico-social field (PMR, town planning, security, sustainable development, etc.). This is reflected in particular by their operations and their spatial organizations with varied typologies and very different architectures depending on the pathologies.
We take these specificities into account from the study of each project and provide a specific response. The more the needs are defined in the preliminary phases, the more suitable the building will be! Also, we promote the integration into our projects of the most recent technologies, connected health, robotics, home automation …
The well-being of residents and staff at the center of each project
Because medico-social establishments, unlike hospital buildings, are the living environment for residents and the working environment for staff, it is imperative to develop spaces with a domestic feel while facilitating the activity of the different teams: doctors, administrative, interview.
Our design method takes into account this dual objective:
For residents, we create spaces with a domestic dimension on a family scale allowing the development of social links.
For the staff, we design service areas that make work easier: travel, ergonomics … with the aim of freeing up as much time as possible to devote to residents.
Feedback from operating establishments has enabled us to refine our expertise and provide tailor-made responses. Associated with exchanges with future users, we can thus provide the most appropriate answers to the desired uses.
In order to ensure a functional and aesthetic coherence of the project and furniture, we can also insure all the furniture part if necessary. The same is also true for signage.
Bioclimatic designs, exterior spaces and privileged openings
We automatically study the bioclimatic architectural design of each establishment, in particular the exhibitions to take advantage of solar gain. Considered as an architectural element in its own right, we always favor natural light. We domesticate it so that it becomes a source of comfort and hospitality.
We also favor outdoor spaces because they create a link between residents and nature. They are designed as an extension of the interior spaces. They are illustrated in different forms: walks, squares, forecourt … secure and easily accessible. In addition, these outdoor arrangements must often integrate rainwater treatment devices and selected plants. Finally, some of them will develop a specific fauna used for therapeutic purposes.
Openness and social inclusion for leitmotifs
Opening establishments in the city is essential for us! This offers the possibility of replacing the resident in society and blurring the felt isolation. We seek to break it with architecture and outdoor spaces. They promote the view of the establishment from the public space and facilitate visitor access. This openness to the outside can also be developed through the creation of activities, the rental of spaces or the development of common activities within the establishment.
The Mengeot & Associés agency designs all types of programs in addition to medical-social establishments: public buildings, collective and individual housing, offices, technical equipment and manages all works: new, renovations, extensions and elevations.
