  • Première construction utilisant les modules « UGL » conçus par M&A, exclusivement pour l’ONG United Green Living, assurant différentes fonctions : école, dispensaire, hébergement, ... Ces modules sont démontables pour permettre d’autres utilisations ultérieures.
  • Engagement humanitaire de Mengeot et Associés au travers de son implication dans le projet en partenariat avec l’ONG UGL et BK, apportant ses compétences techniques et son expérience dans les bâtiments médico-sociaux

DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE

  • Bâtiment entièrement en bois, livré sur site et monté par les associations locales
  • Bâtiment adapté aux conditions climatique spécifiques de l’Ouganda : toiture isolée et protégée du soleil par des panneaux photovoltaïques, et éléments architecturaux (avancées de toiture, brise-soleils) assurant la protection contre le soleil et la pluie
  • Qualité de l’éclairement naturel assuré par de larges menuiseries extérieures évitant la surchauffe et bonne répartition de la lumière au centre de la pièce (brise-soleils assurant le rôle d’échelle à lumière)
  • Autonomie énergétique assurée par des panneaux photovoltaïques en toiture et stockage de l’électricité assurée par des batteries
  • Traitements des effluents par système autonome permettant l’utilisation des boues comme engrais agricole
  • Récupération des eaux pluviales pour utilisation dans les sanitaires

KEY STRENGTHS

  • First construction using the "UGL" modules designed by M&A, exclusively for the NGO United Green Living, ensuring different functions: school, clinic, accommodation, ... These modules can be dismantled to allow other future uses.
  • Humanitarian engagement of Mengeot and Associates through its involvement in the project in partnership with the NGO UGL and BK, bringing its technical skills and experience in medico-social buildings
  • Humanitarian project funded by patronage
  • Project also made up with an educational mission concerning the construction and maintenance of buildings in collaboration with a local association

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPPEMENT

  • Entire building made of wood, delivered on site and assembled by local associations
  • Building adapted to the specific climatic conditions of Uganda: insulated roof protected from the sun by photovoltaic panels, and architectural elements (roof overhangs, sunbreakers) ensuring protection against the sun and rain
  • Quality of natural light provided by large windows avoiding overheating and good distribution of light in the center of the room (sunbreakers ensuring the role of light ladder)
  • Energy autonomy ensured by photovoltaic panels on the roof and storage of electricity ensured by batteries
  • Effluent treatment by an autonomous system enable the use of sludge as agricultural fertilizer
  • Rainwater harvesting for use in sanitary facilities
